On Friday, March 11, National Assembly Research Service (Chief Kim Man-heum) published The Task of the Times for National Integration and the Political Polarization (NARS Info 17th Edition), which contains the contents of the implications for national integration that was emphasized as the major task after South Korea’s 20th presidential election.
Introducing what has been mentioned by historical presidents, National Assembly chairmen, and foreign leaders regarding the national integration, NARS Info indicates that emphasis has been different as national cohesion, resolution of social inequality, awareness of problems about the division, etc., have changed depending on the circumstances and problem awareness.
In addition, upon investigation of various surveys, it is suggested that people in not only Korea but also other countries regard political conflict as the most serious disaccord among various social strife, and NARS Info presents various survey data in illustrative form such as diagrams, graphs, etc., on related social conflicts in domestic and foreign areas. Based on assessment of survey outcomes, it is implied that social conflicts were derived from inconsistency of awareness of basic facts, and not from inconsistency of political direction.
Since July 2021, the National Assembly Research Service has published NARS Info, which summarizes major publications and current data into easily noticeable graphics through its homepage and social networking service.
