NARS Hosts Special Seminar to Commemorate the 32nd Anniversary of ROK-PRC Diplomatic Ties
On Thursday, August 22, 2024, the National Assembly Research Service (Chief Park Sang-chul) co-hosted the special seminar commemorating the 32nd anniversary of diplomatic ties between the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the People’s Republic of China (PRC). The seminar also saw the launch of a new entity to promote exchanges between Korean and Chinese economic experts. The seminar was sponsored by the Korea-China Parliamentary Federation.

The seminar was proposed to lay a foundation for cooperation and mutual benefit between the two countries and to provide a direction for future bilateral economic exchanges.

The “Accompanying the Korean and Chinese People and Economies” was registered as a corporate body under the supervision of the National Assembly Secretariat in June. It is an organization established by Korean and Chinese citizens and economic experts to promote practical exchanges and cooperation. By bringing together Korean and Chinese businesspeople and introducing a joint Korea-China chairmanship system, it has created a new model of mutual cooperation.

It also aims to help solidify economic relations between the two countries, eliminate intergenerational inequality, and promote equal rights to life for all by establishing itself as a group of trusted experts to the National Assembly and in the business community.

This seminar served as an opportunity for NARS and this new entity to discuss ways to open up new fields of economic cooperation between Korea and China through exchanges and cooperation, contribute to improving the quality of life of people from both countries, as well as a basis for further strengthening trust between the two countries.
